Become a BASIC affiliate by partnering in one of four options:

BASIC Trial

  • Trial a one-week version of BASIC. The ABF sends you selected math, reading, stem and sport lessons depending on the age of your students. A donation may be made to the ABF.

    • Host: No Fee BASIC provides students and staff for program (Birmingham area only)

    • Provide two to three classrooms with internet access.
    • Computer lab with internet access to take pre/post STAR test.
    • Field space for athletics.
    • Use of gymnasium at times is helpful to relieve the heat for the students.
    • Area for eating lunch. Lunches would be delivered from programs for under-served children.
    • Storage of academic and sports equipment during the program.

    Curriculum Purchase: $5000 for BASIC Curriculum

    • BASIC curriculum approximately 300 academic and sports lessons for your camp site.
    • Potential teacher training for full BASIC program
    • Receive master copies of the book and materials.
    • Evaluations and/or STAR testing based on site preference. BASIC is not involved in testing/evaluations.

    *BASIC Sister Site: $6000 for BASIC Curriculum and Program Assistant

    • BASIC curriculum approximately 300 academic and sports lessons for your camp site.
    • Curriculum training for all camp staff in early May.
    • Receive master copies of the book and materials.
    • Receive help from program assistant provided by BASIC to be onsite site during camp to help manage BASIC methodology.
    • Evaluations and STAR testing provided by BASIC.

    *If BASIC methodology and curriculum are followed, the option to receive a “discount” is offered. At the end of program and based on STAR test results the Sister Site can earn 50% of the curriculum fee back with reported gains in reading and math.
